Influences
Arte Povera · Humble materials (cotton, natural inks, tea bags, used objects) and attention to the present moment, from the Italian “poor art” movement. (Garments & Traces)
Dada · The practice of assembling, cutting and recombining. Words and scraps of textile are put together like a list, a collage, a game. (Word-idea, “The to-do list”)
Oulipo · The French group of writers who work with constraints. Writing under a rule (a word reduced letter by letter, a sequence repeated) shifts how language is read. (Word-idea, Disappearance / Evolution)
Japanese literature of the 19th century · Poetry and nature as essential parts of everyday life, and the simplicity of life they speak of. (Nature & Poetry)
