Bio
French woman artist, based in Rome, from Nantes.
Marina Di Luce is a French artist based in Rome. Her work asks what remains (memory, trace, time, gesture, disappearance) and what happens between us (presence, body, relation, encounter). Words become matter: written, stitched, dyed, erased, filmed, suspended. They hover between writing and drawing, until they disappear. Using calligraphy, poetry, naturally dyed textile, video and installation as different languages of one research, she shifts the work from object to space. The viewer's body, distance and movement complete the reading. Trained in history and political sciences, she is drawn to individual and collective memory, transmission and the places she crosses.
